AACACO students level up street foods in celebration of National Entrepreneurship Month

Updated: Oct 5, 2023

Creativity, innovation, and teamwork came into play as the Associate of Arts in Culinary Arts and Catering Operations (AACACO) students brought the usually ready-to-eat street foods to the next level during the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management’s celebration of the National Entrepreneurship Month held last November 16, 2022, at the University of Baguio Centennial Hall.

The celebration kicked off with the opening program which included a talk on the Department of Trade and Industry’s Entrepreneurship Programs such as its Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) aimed at raising awareness of the significance of entrepreneurship which was delivered by Mr. Richard Limpin, DTI Benguet Division Chief.

Furthermore, during the celebration, the AACACO students showcased their culinary skills and innovation through the Level Up Filipino Street Food Fair where the students had the opportunity to present and capitalize on the upgraded Filipino street foods.

The activities are embedded in the Culinary/Food and Beverage Entrepreneurship (HDCC18), a 4-unit subject incorporated into the curriculum for Associate of Arts in Culinary Arts and Catering Operations. The National Entrepreneurship Month activities are spearheaded by the HDCC18 adviser and program chair for AACACO, Ms. Mary Joy Limpin who was persistent in bringing lifelong learning experiences to the students, and has been made possible with the wholehearted support of the SIHTM family headed by Dean Jenelyn Mangangey-Magpatoc and of the UB community.
