The Beauty of Learning
Kristine Joyce De Vera
Education in one’s life is just like taking a stair inside a huge tower. Every time you learn, you take one step on those stairs and watch the view from a window. And each moment you reach a floor, you will be able to contemplate miles and miles toward a new perspective.
Mr. Alvin T. Morales is one of the Bachelor of Science in Tourism graduates of the University of Baguio back in 2004. As learning never stops, he took an Associate Degree in Health Science Education at the same university. After a few years, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Philippine Women’s University. Passionate for more, Mr. Morales graduated Doctor of Philosophy in Management Administration and Supervision at Baguio Central University in May 2021.
Interestingly, Mr. Morales has an amazing 18 years of work experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. Aside from being a current professor and Barangay Kagawad, he has also been an event organizer/coordinator, front desk agent, room attendant, waiter, and events host.
His hard work paid off as it allowed him to have an international license — Certified Guest Service Professional, and a national certificate — NC II Customer Service and Housekeeping.
Mr. Morales, as a current college instructor of his very own Alma mater, the University of Baguio, is now able to share true-to-life stories from his past experiences that inspire many. He uses his journey to encourage champions to never give up on their dreams — to try and try until they succeed. Thus, teaching students to study as hard as they can because he also firmly believes that education plays a massive role in achieving one’s ultimate goal.
