SIHTM officially launches LIFE Academy

In celebration of National Entrepreneurship Month, the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management officially launched its very own LIFE (Livelihood & Innovation for Excellence) Academy last November 16, 2022, at the Centennial Hall.

The need to capacitate future industry professionals and the community with the knowledge and skills to venture into limitless opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry through training and other learning modes led to the birth of the LIFE Academy. LIFE Academy is a concoction of micro projects maximizing available resources to generate sustainable opportunities while bridging the gap for quality education benefitting industry practitioners and future professionals through training for livelihood projects, reskilling and upskilling opportunities, and innovative options to ensure lifelong learning.

The successful launch of the program was due to the collaborative efforts of the SIHTM family, especially the program chairs - Ms. Kresdale May G. Pacalso, Ms. Joanna Marie B. Victorio, and Ms. Mary Joy B. Limpin, the staff - Ms. Roeanne Mylene K. Yango and Ms. Pamela Eileen Mae Consul, and faculty members - Ms. Rachel Grace A. Liclican, and Ms. Jessica T. Faba-an. Chef Alexander D. Molintas and Chef Ailene Carillo also contributed by preparing the grazing table, sumptuous lunch, and a creatively crafted mystery cake for the launching event. The SIHTM performing arts and the student working committee, along with the strong support of the UB community, also played an important role in making the launch a success.

DTI Benguet, represented by Division Chief, Mr. Richard Limpin graced the event. Also present were UB Linkages Office director, Ms. Melanie Rulla-Saro, and UB Science High School principal, Dr. Antonio Mangaliag.
