Setting a standard in hospitality and tourism education, the University of Baguio - School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (UB-SIHTM) opened its doors to the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) for collaboration through a benchmarking activity.
With BiPSU’s quest for improvement toward better and quality services to its stakeholders, its key officials including its vice presidents, school deans and directors visited the University of Baguio last September 9, 2022. During BiPSU’s visit, UB presented its programs likewise the standards on how things are carried out in the university especially in its tourism and hospitality management programs. Furthermore, BiPSU’s administrators were able to have a dialogue with UB President Engr. Javier Herminio D. Bautista, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Janice Kaylyn K. Lonogan, and SIHTM Dean Jenelyn M. Magpatoc at the Cafe Fernando. Also present during the event were SIHTM program chairs, Ms. Kresdale May Pacalso, Ms. Mary Joy Limpin, and Ms. Joanna Marie Victorio, and some of the SIHTM students who facilitated the tour to the SIHTM facilities.
BiPSU’s visit intended to enrich its competitive edge by learning from the best practices of UB-SIHTM given the remarkable performance of the school toward the pursuit of excellence. Such collaboration is a mark of the school’s standards that is worthy of emulation not only for universities in the region but also for universities from any part of the country.
