Everybody was ecstatic to know that the Social Graces event was back on the calendar for Freshmen students to engage their skills they have learned in their Professional Development and Applied Ethics class.
Held at Baguio Country Club Convention Center on the 29th of March 2023, the Freshmen of the School of IHTM was lined up by 11A.M. in order to be organized for their partnered entrance at 12 P.M. in their dazzling cocktail dresses and well-fitted suits, with beautiful colors decided in order to differentiate their sections.
Ready to have their first full-course fine dining experience, the students were thrilled when the event opened with a welcoming speech, exciting them for what is to come. While waiting for the meal, everyone in the convention center was enthralled with the singers of the UB Performing Arts who sang classics such as "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" that received rounds of applause. The conversations started flowing as did the wine. Starting with Bread and Butter, Pumpkin Bisque and Mesclun Greens topped with Citrus Vinaigrette, Flat Iron Steak served with Red Wine Sauce as the main course, and ending with Chocolate Mousse that came with decadent raspberry sauce drizzled on top, everyone was surely filled with delicious food.
Amidst enjoyment, everyone was allowed to socialize with their table-mates. The conversations started flowing as did the wine. Courses of food served and palates satisfied, the students were encouraged to walk on the stage to show off their dresses, allowing the SIHTM mentors to choose the Early Bird, Darling of the Crowd, Standout King and Queen of the Night.
They were given time to take their pictures on the stage but even as they were dismissed, the attendees spent the rest of their afternoon taking pictures in their suits and dresses as it was truly a 'Glitz and Glamour Gala' to remember.
The event was spearheaded by the THC 104 instructors Ms. Desiree Anne Olimpo and Ms. Jenifer G. Sese with the help of the MICE Class - section HCQ.
