The University of Baguio’s School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management has always been recognized and deemed as the “Home of the Champions” for the reason that mentors and aspiring professionals alike strive together to surpass the expectations in their respective industries. Aligned with such, the school has endlessly celebrated the triumphs of its subordinates through various festivities, one of which is the annual Excellence Awards, organized by the SIHTM Student Body. The Excellence Awards is an event wherein faculty members, SIHTM organizations, as well as outstanding students are awarded by the SIHTM Dean, Ma’am Jenelyn Magpatoc, for their exceptional performance in various aspects, may it be inside or outside the school.
For the Academic Year 2022-2023, the Excellence Awards was held on February 17, 2023, at the Café Fernando. The program formally started with a message delivered by one of the mentors of the champion, Ms. Rachel Grace Liclican, to give a heartfelt welcome to everyone, especially to the invited guests Mr. Adrian Fernandez and Ms. Rachelle Anne Montoya who also shared their stories as champions under the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management to serve as inspirations to everyone to keep striving to become the best version of themselves. Following the entire program, Dean Jenelyn Magpatoc, together with the program chairs, Ms. Joanna Marie Victorio, Ms. Kresdale May Pacalso, and Ms. Mary Joy Limpin gave out the different excellence awards.
